What are some red flags to look for when working with clients?

As an entrepreneur in Georgia, your clients are a large part of your success. However, some clients can be more trouble than they’re worth, especially if your involvement with them ends in litigation. That’s why Lifewire offers the following client red flags to look out for.

Requests for quick or easy projects

There can be a few reasons why a potential client refers to their work as quick or easy to accomplish. In some cases, it may be an accurate description of the project in question. In other cases, it could indicate that the client is attempting to have work performed for a lesser charge. It can also signal that the client lacks and understanding of the service provided, which could lead to further problems.

Deadlines that are tough to meet

In order to do your best work having enough time to complete it is of paramount importance. In this instance, unrealistic deadlines could be a huge red flag, since your client is bound to be disappointed in some respect. For instance, if you miss the deadline your client may complain about timeliness. However, if you make the deadline but turn in subpar work your client is likely to be displeased regarding the quality.

Poor communication

Chances are you’ll need to check in with your client frequently to ensure the project is headed in the right direction. If you can’t reach your client or the answers you receive are vague, it will likely be very difficult to have an idea of what is required of you. Evasive clients will also alter your timeline, which can lead to contract disputes.
